As the first company of Oceania Development Group, the Migration Bureau was one of the first private migration practices of its type to be established. Today, the Migration Bureau is widely regarded as one of the largest and longest-established, officially recognised immigration and visa consulting groups specialising in obtaining skills, family and business permanent residence visas to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Oceania Development Group is understandably proud of its history and the company's unique distinction as a pioneer of the immigration consulting industry.
These countries have long attracted skilled workers, qualified professionals and business people from around the world seeking a better life for themselves and their families. It is widely thought that immigration has built these "new world" lands into the prosperous countries that they are today.
Increasing competition for a fixed number of places means that the immigration authorities can only approve applicants with the best prepared applications, thus creating the need for independent immigration consultants.
The immigration consulting industry has been formally recognised by the various governments through the creation of professional industry bodies;
- Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA)
- Migration Institute of Australia (MIA)
- Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA)
- Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC)
- Office of the Overseas Immigration Commissioner (OISC)
Today, Australia's immigration policy allows for the granting of around 170,000 visas per year, New Zealand's around 50,000 visas per year and Canada's around 265,000 visas per year. Immigration quotas for the UK and USA are related to their intermediate (temporary) visa classes.
Private migration consultants, of which the Migration Bureau is one of the most prominent, now assist a substantial number of approved applicants.
From the very beginning, the Migration Bureau has produced annual Migration News publications providing clients and potential clients with news and information about their intended destination.
